The joint stock company Avangard, located in the town of Safonovo, Smolensk region, is the leading Russian enterprise producing large-size fiberglass units and various plastic and rubber goods.

The history of the JSC Avangard goes back to the enterprise “Safonovo plastic plant” founded in 1962. Since its foundation the enterprise has been working for civil needs as well as for national defence taking an active part in the production of the most up-to-date soviet rocket-and-space equipment.

Nowadays JSC Avangard is a part of one of the largest rocket building companies in Russia - JSC «Military-Industrial Corporation «NPO Mashinostroyenia», which became a part of the JSC Tactical Missiles Corporation in 2013. In the interest of the national defence, the mass production of launching transporting containers, engine cases for solid-propellant rockets, elements of armour and radiological protection for armored vehicles was organized at the plant.

JSC Avangard has a great experience in production of various goods on request of the biggest domestic and foreign enterprises of oil and gas industry, chemical industry, metallurgy, machine building and power industry, transport, municipal engineering.

The main types of products are fiberglass chimney shafts, chemically resistant tanks, fiberglass pipeline systems, large-size fiberglass radomes, plastic slabs for different purposes, rubber covering for railway and tramway crossings.
